So cozy up with your favorite drink, get ready to embark on literary adventures, and let's dive into the enchanting world of books!

1. Mystery & Thriller

Mysterious Forest

There is something exhilarating about unraveling a gripping mystery, and the suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat. If you love a good adrenaline rush and plot twists that leave you gasping, then you'll adore best-selling mystery and thriller novels. One of my favorite authors in this genre is Peter Swanson. Love mysteries and thrillers, try A Talent for Murder.

2. Romance

Love Story

Ah, romance – the genre that sets hearts aflutter and paints vivid pictures of love in all its forms. Whether you swoon over swoon-worthy protagonists or yearn for epic love stories, there's a best-selling romance novel out there waiting to sweep you off your feet. Ann Patchett is one of my favorite authors. Her recent best-seller, Tom Lake, is a wonderful story.

3. Fantasy

Magical World

For those who crave escapism and magical realms, fantasy is the ultimate playground. Delve into enchanted lands, mythical creatures, and epic quests in the vast universe of best-selling fantasy novels that will transport you to realms beyond your wildest imagination. Combining fantasy with Greek mythology and historical fiction, Madeline Miller's masterpiece The Song of Achilles is a wonderful read.

4. Science Fiction

Are you ready to explore the boundless possibilities of the future and beyond? Science fiction offers a glimpse into futuristic worlds, groundbreaking technologies, and mind-bending concepts that challenge your perception of reality. Prepare to embark on mind-blowing journeys through the realm of best-selling sci-fi novels. I am inspired by Martha Wells in this genre. System Collapse is the final installment of her murderbot series. The protagonist is a hybrid human whose technology is deadly and his human side is basically a dissatisfied employee.

5. Historical Fiction

Step back in time and immerse yourself in bygone eras filled with rich narratives, historical events, and vivid characters that bring history to life. Best-selling historical fiction novels intertwine real-life events with captivating storytelling, offering a glimpse into the past like never before. One of my favorites in this genre is A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. It's the story of an unrepentant Russian aristocrat who survives the Bolshevik revolution as a prisoner in Moscow's finest hotel.

From heart-pounding thrillers to enchanting fantasies and poignant historical tales, these best-selling genres hold a treasure trove of literary gems waiting to be discovered. So grab a book from each genre, embark on diverse literary escapades, and lose yourself in the captivating stories that await you.

Yes, all great genres. I didn't used to like historical fiction, but now I do. I haven't read A Gentleman in Moscow; thanks for the rec!
